3D printing taking fashion and jewellery to a whole new level

If you want to know what is going to be big in the year 2013, it is going to be 3D printing. According to good old wikipedia, 3D printing is defined as:

A process of making a three-dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model using an additive process, where successive layers of material are laid down in different shapes.

Although the technology isn’t new, recent advancements has pushed the prices for these nifty tools to new lows. On kickstarter.com we are seeing new projects start up bringing manufacturing of fashion goods to a whole new level! Ever wanted to design your own jewellery in which ever way you wanted? Now you can. The company that is leading the game is Shapeways.com
